Welcome to NARPO Surrey

About Surrey Branch

We have over 700 members living across the county, and well beyond as far as Australia.

We liaise closely with the Surrey Police Retired Comrades Association, who publish a monthly e-mail newsletter, the Surrey Police Federation, the Chief Constable and Police & Crime Commissioner, and of course our Pensions Adminstrator XPS.

Welfare

Our paramount aim remains the welfare of our members, and if you or any member you know needs support or information, please get in touch, see Contact Us below.

Subscriptions & Pensions

It took much persistence by our Treasurer Bob to sort out some of the issues with our pension administrators Equiniti. I know many of our members have also had problems getting their questions answered. Well Surrey/Sussex Police changed our pensions  administrator to XPS back in November 2022 and they are working hard to bring our records up to date and to resolve some of the historic anomaliers.

Events

AGM

The 2022 AGM took place in April at Federation House, and it was good to see some friendly faces in person rather than online, and have a chat and refreshments afterwards. At the subsequent Branch Meeting in July, our new Branch Secretary was confirmed, more information at bottom of page. This year's AGM is due to take place again at Federation House on 12th April 2023.

Annual Conference

The 2022 NARPO Annual Conference on Friday 9th September 2022 in Torquay, was cancelled out of respect for the recent passing of HM Queen Elizabeth II. Next Annual Conference is scheduled for 8th September 2023 in Blackpool.

National Police Memorial Day

This took place on Sunday 25th September 2022 in Belfast. Our former Branch Secretary Spike is attended on our behalf, and met up with Surrey Police Federation members and the Chief Constable. More information is available on the NPMDwebsite.

It was good to support our colleagues in the PSNI but not the easiest or cheapest place to get to from Surrey, so .....

Surrey Police Remembrance Service

This took place on Thursday 29th September 2022 at Holy Trinity Church in Guildford town centre. The event was well attended, with more information available in the Old & Bold newsletter.

Further Key Information

We provide welfare support, with local reps and members providing practical help and advice, and we support local charities. We are conscious that many members continue to work in a variety of fields, and are keen to provide information and support relevant to varying needs. If you need assistance or have  any ideas or suggestions to improve our Branch, please see contact details below..

If you are a retiring Metropolitan or City officer resident in the county, you would be most welcome, but may wish to join the London Branch in the first instance (thereby being kept in touch with Met & City members and events across the country) then ourselves as an additional member.
