Welcome to NARPO Hampshire (Southampton)

About Hampshire (Southampton) Branch

The Hampshire (Southampton) Branch of NARPO was the first to form in what is now known as Hampshire in 1947. We cover the whole of what (pre-1966) was the County of Southampton. Originally being Basingstoke in the North and Fareham in the East and of course, the entirety of The New Forest and now including the Isle of Wight. These borders were never truly defined which is the same to this day for all branches.

We have the largest membership in the County of Hampshire with over 908.

Further Key Information

Southampton is the largest city in the south west area of Hampshire and adjoins The New Forest to the west. The city has a long history as a major international hub and sea port for trading, yachting and other seafaring endeavours. It is known now as a departure point for cruise liners and has an international airport.

It is also known as the home of the Spitfire. Construction coming from several different engineering bases within a small radius of the city centre during WWII. It is famed for another reason as it is the only place in the country to have four high tides a day! This comes in very handy for berthing deep water shipping.
