About Derbyshire Branch

Derbyshire Branch was formed in 1947 and in 1956 the Chief Constable, W. E. Pitts, was invited to become President of the Branch, to which he agreed, and the practice continues to this day.

The branch area encompasses a variety of landscapes, and towns with industrial heritage. Stretching from the heather moorland of the Dark Peak, through the limestone valleys of the White Peak, to the City of Derby and the south of the county, which has a more rolling countryside which includes parts of the National Forest.
