Welcome to the home page of the National Association of Retired Police Officers (NARPO). We are a member organisation representing retired police officers of all ranks and police widows from police forces throughout England and Wales. We offer a range of services to members including advice on pensions and other issues affecting the welfare of our members.

NARPO is a branch based organisation formed in 1919 and we still have local branches spread throughout England and Wales. Governance of the organisation is provided by a National Executive Committee elected on a regional basis. Rules and policy are considered by an annual conference in September each year, informed by the publication of an annual report.

The national headquarters of NARPO are in Wakefield where staff is available to assist members. NARPO also negotiate commercial services for members including insurance, vehicle recovery, solicitor’s advice and assistant, holiday offers and medical insurance, many of these services at reduced rates.

We have links with national and international associations representing the interests of older people. We have close associations with the Police Service, Police Staff Associations and police charities together with other organisations with interests in policing issues.

Members receive our magazine NARPO News published quarterly each February, May, August and November and packed with items of interest on a variety of topics. The Small Ads page, reproduced on the website, contains members holiday accommodation for let. NARPO supplies, a range of good quality merchandise featuring the association logo, are also available through the magazine and web site.

NARPO News also attracts prospective employers looking for police experience and skills to advertise job vacancies to members. Our situations vacant page offers similar opportunities to employers and members.

NARPO are prepared to comment on issues affecting pensions, older people, policing, safety and security and other associated matters through our magazine and by means of regular Press Releases. We are also happy to try and assist the police, documentary producers and writers to research recent and not so recent events in police history or to assist in current enquiries or research through our notices page.

NARPO provides excellent value for money. We afford an opportunity to keep abreast of developments that affect former police officers and a chance to keep in touch with former colleagues. For more information Contact us at the national office or your local branch or simply complete the on line application form to Join Us.
