Further Key Information

The branch regularly publishes a branch newsletter and the Committee meets on a regular basis to keep members up to date with relevant information. The AGM is held in April each year and a full Branch meeting is held in October. Bereavement notices received from a number of sources and other urgent information are circulated by the Branch Secretary by email to those members who have that facility. The notices are also included in the newsletters for those who do not have email. The branch is strongly concerned in the welfare of all members and is managed by the Branch Welfare Officer Jim Sharpe. Our Branch Vice Chairman (Ahmed Ramiz) is the main contact for all Sussex NARPO branches in respect of advising members who are subject of Injury on Duty Pension reviews and actively liaises with The Police Federation. The Branch actively supports the Sussex Police Charitable Trust and local charities.

The Branch Officers meet as necessary with the Officers of the other four Sussex Branches in order to discuss Regional and National matters and how best to provide services to our members across the county. This enables us all to find best practice methods and provide advice and support to our membership. We also represent the branch at both Regional and National meetings

The branch also has an active social side and our Social Secretary, Roger Buttle, with others, arranges a number of social events throughout the year including a Christmas Dinner, a Summer BBQ, a Burns Night in January and visits to a number of events both within the county and wider afield.

New members will always be warmly welcomed to the branch and should contact the Branch Secretary for further details.
